Open Source Alternatives
Managed foundation model API service from Amazon.
AWS Bedrock is a trademark of its respective owner.
Updated May 2026
Bedrock's lock-in is the AWS ecosystem, not the models. The models themselves (Claude, Llama, Mistral) are available elsewhere. What you lose is the unified API that lets you swap models with one parameter change, plus the managed RAG pipeline and Guardrails. Teams already deep in AWS will miss the native S3/Lambda integration. Solo devs can switch to direct model APIs in a day. Enterprise teams with Guardrails and Knowledge Bases configured should budget 1-2 weeks to replicate the orchestration layer.

Get up and running with Kimi-K2.5, GLM-5, MiniMax, DeepSeek, gpt-oss, Qwen, Gemma and other models.
Ollama makes it dead simple. Download it, run 'ollama run llama3' in your terminal, and you're chatting with an LLM locally.
Open-source AI engine, run any model locally
LocalAI runs your own AI models locally and exposes them through an OpenAI-compatible API. LLMs, image generation, speech-to-text: all from a single server.
AWS Bedrock is a platform. It bundles multiple capabilities into one subscription. These tools each cover one piece. Teams often assemble 2–3 of them instead of paying for the full suite.
SDK and proxy to call 100+ LLM APIs in OpenAI format
TensorRT LLM provides users with an easy-to-use Python API to define Large Language Models (LLMs) and supports state-of-the-art optimizations to perform inference efficiently on NVIDIA GPUs. TensorRT LLM also contains components to create Python and C++ runtimes that orchestrate the inference execution in a performant way.
