Orchestrator.inc runs a whole team of coding agents from one desktop app. Each task gets its own worker: one agent, one branch, one git worktree, so parallel agents stop trampling each other. A planning agent splits big goals into tasks, and a live Kanban tracks every worker through PR, CI and review. It drives Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Aider, Goose and plenty more. Free, Apache 2.0.

Setup is a download for macOS, Windows or Linux; the app runs its own daemon. You bring your agent CLIs and API keys, and it doesn't proxy model calls, so your model bill is the real cost. Best trick: failed CI and review comments go back to the agent that owns the branch.

Nothing is paywalled for individuals. A hosted Cloud is waitlist-only with no published price, and teams can buy a design-partner pilot at $500-2,000/month for early shared dashboards. Solo and small teams: free. Larger orgs wanting team features: the pilot, for now.

The catch: release builds send telemetry by default, including your GitHub username, and opting out takes three environment variables. It ships nightly with a deep issue backlog, so expect churn. Compare Conductor and Claude Squad.

Free vs Self-Hosted vs Paid

open core

Free: The desktop app (macOS Apple silicon and Intel, Windows, Linux AppImage/.deb/.rpm), local daemon, CLI and mobile companion app are free under Apache 2.0. No account, no credit card. It does not proxy model calls: you use your own agent subscriptions or API keys, which is where the real spend is.

Self-hosted: Everything runs locally on your machine; agents get their own git worktrees and the mobile app pairs over LAN or Tailscale. The AO Cloud control-plane service is in the public repo, but the authenticated Cloud web app lives in a separate private repository.

Paid: Orchestrator.inc Cloud (agents running on hosted machines) is waitlist-only with no published price. A design-partner program sells paid pilots at $500-2,000/month, month-to-month, aimed at 10-100 engineer teams, with team features (shared mission control, ROI reporting) landing for partners first.

Free for individuals and small teams; you only pay your agents' model costs. Teams that want shared dashboards and spend reporting today are looking at a $500-2,000/month design-partner pilot, and Cloud pricing isn't published yet.

Medium team
free locally, or a $500-2,000/month design-partner pilot for shared dashboards
Large team
design-partner pilot now; watch for Cloud pricing before committing
