huashu-motion turns your coding agent into a launch-video studio. Ask Claude Code or Codex for a 30-second product film and it pitches three directions, builds the film as browser code, writes its own score, then opens an editor where you click a frame and type what to change. It was built to match Anthropic's Claude Motion, a Team and Enterprise beta at launch. This one is MIT and free.
Install with npx skills add alchaincyf/huashu-motion, plus Node 22+, Chrome and FFmpeg. No video model, no paid API: code draws every frame and the music is generated locally. The README is Chinese-first with a full English version.
Your only bill is model tokens. The author made a 22-second film on DeepSeek V4.1 Flash for ¥1.95 (under 30 US cents). Solo founders and small teams: free, a launch video without hiring a motion designer. Larger teams: good for drafts, a designer still finishes.
The catch: it can't hear, so the final listen on the music is yours. No real people or footage, only code-drawn visuals plus your own assets. Quality tracks the model. It's five days old, and Windows renders sometimes come out as zero-byte MP4s.
Free vs Self-Hosted vs Paid
fully freeFree: MIT-licensed skill plus the om command-line tool, browser editor, 12 starter templates, 23 sound effects and 27 bundled open fonts. Music is composed and rendered on your machine with no paid API.
Self-hosted: Runs entirely locally. Install with npx skills add alchaincyf/huashu-motion. Needs Node 22+, Google Chrome, Chromium or Edge, and FFmpeg. Optional: om samples build downloads a ~55 MB pack of CC0 / CC-BY instrument samples (otherwise synths), and Kokoro narration needs uv, Python 3.12 and a ~325 MB model. macOS system voices need nothing.
Paid: No paid tier and no external video or music API. The real cost is your coding agent's model usage: the author's 22-second DeepSeek V4.1 Flash film with three rounds of notes cost ¥1.95 (under $0.30). Results depend on the model; the author mostly uses Opus in Claude Code.
Free and fully local: no video model, no music API. You pay only for your agent's tokens, which can be well under a dollar per short film on a cheap model.
