scrum_helper

Scrum Helper is a browser extension that writes your standup update for you. It pulls your GitHub activity, commits, pull requests, issues, reviews, and drops a formatted daily scrum report straight into your Gmail, Outlook, or Google Groups compose window. It's a FOSSASIA project, free, and open under LGPL.

Setup is light but not one-click. It's not on the Chrome Web Store yet, so you install it load-unpacked in developer mode after a quick npm build. A GitHub token is optional and only needed if you hit API rate limits. No servers, no accounts.

For any developer who dreads writing the same standup summary every morning, this quietly saves a few minutes a day, and it competes with paid standup bots like Geekbot and Standuply without the per-seat bill. Solo devs and small teams get the most out of it.

The catch is scope. It reads GitHub only right now, with other platforms listed as planned, so if your work lives in GitLab or Jira it won't help yet. And the developer-mode install is a small hurdle compared to a one-click store extension. For a GitHub-centric team, those are easy trades.
