MobileBuildMCP (formerly XcodeBuildMCP) hands your AI coding agent the Xcode controls: build and run on simulators or real devices, run tests, attach LLDB, tap through the simulator UI and grab screenshots.
Install via Homebrew or npm and add one config entry to Cursor, Claude Code or Codex. Needs macOS 14.5+ and Xcode 16+. Despite the name, still iOS and macOS only.
Free, MIT, nothing to pay for. Sentry maintains it, and it sends Sentry error telemetry by default (one env var turns it off). The September rename changed package names, env vars and config paths; update old configs. Install it.
Free vs Self-Hosted vs Paid
fully freeFree: MIT-licensed MCP server and CLI in one package (mobilebuildmcp on npm, or the Homebrew formula from the getsentry tap). All tools are in the open release.
Self-hosted: Runs locally on your Mac (macOS 14.5+, Xcode 16+, Node 18+ unless installed via Homebrew). The CLI starts a per-workspace daemon for stateful work like log capture and debugging. Device tools need code signing configured in Xcode.
Paid: No paid tier. Error telemetry goes to Sentry by default; set MOBILEBUILDMCP_SENTRY_DISABLED=true to turn it off.
