The Lens
FixIt is a Hugo theme that gives your static site dark mode, multilingual support, search, and a dozen optional integrations without writing any frontend code. Your blog ends up as plain HTML files served from anywhere, no database, no server-side rendering. MIT licensed, fully free.
Install runs through Hugo Modules or a git submodule. Configuration is TOML or YAML: pick a comment system, an analytics provider, a search backend. Plays nicely with paid services like Algolia if you want them, but free alternatives work fine (fuse.js, giscus). Ships with PWA support, an AI summary feature, and built-in handling for the most common comment systems.
Solo blog or company devblog, this is one of the better Hugo themes right now. Install it, configure once, move on. Compare to PaperMod if you want something more minimal.
The catch: it's maintained by one person. Active maintenance, but the bus factor is one. If the maintainer steps back, you own whatever customizations you made.
