Switching Cost
Webflow keeps you through its hosting and its CMS, not portable data. The HTML export drops the CMS, forms, and interactions, so a self-hosted rebuild means re-implementing the content schema, re-linking dynamic content, and rebuilding every animation by hand. A simple marketing site moves in a few days. A CMS-heavy site with custom interactions is a multi-week project for a small team. The cost people underestimate is the interactions and animations, which don't export at all and have to be redone from scratch.
