UVdesk is a Symfony-based helpdesk aimed at e-commerce support, with marketplace connectors rather than just an email inbox. The community edition is self-hosted and free forever with unlimited agents, which is unusual in a market that charges by the seat.
Running it means PHP, Symfony and MySQL. Heavier to stand up than osTicket, lighter to keep running than Zammad. The marketplace integrations are the real differentiator: if your support volume arrives from storefronts rather than a support address, that shapes the whole workflow.
Hosted plans start at $22/mo for two agents with extra agents at $11/mo, and the Pro tier at $36/mo adds unlimited mailboxes and a knowledge base. Solo and small teams: self-host, unlimited agents at zero cost is difficult to argue with. Large teams: price the hosted tier against your own ops time honestly.
The catch is the license. UVdesk ships under OSL-3.0, which is OSI-approved but unusual and more restrictive than it first appears. Read it properly before embedding this in anything you intend to resell.
