MultiPost skips the API problem entirely. It is a browser extension that pushes one piece of content to more than ten platforms by driving the sessions you are already signed into, so there is no login, no registration, and no API key to apply for.

That architecture is the whole story. Getting official publishing access to Instagram or TikTok means an app review process that runs for weeks and frequently ends in rejection for small developers. An extension that fills in the same forms you would fill in yourself sidesteps every bit of it. Install it and start posting.

Platform coverage leans Chinese: Xiaohongshu, Weibo, Zhihu, and Bilibili sit alongside TikTok and YouTube. For a Western only audience, a proper scheduler like gitroomhq/postiz-app or brightbeanxyz/brightbean-studio fits better. This is Apache licensed, free, and has nothing to sell you.

The catch is that browser automation breaks whenever a platform changes its markup, and nothing publishes while your browser is closed. This is a distribution tool, not a scheduler. Anything that has to go out at 9am on Tuesday while you are asleep needs a server, and this is not one.

Free vs Self-Hosted vs Paid

fully free

Free: All of it. Apache-2.0 licensed browser extension with no account, no registration, and no API keys. Publishes text, images, and video to more than ten platforms.

Self-hosted: Not applicable in the usual sense. It runs as an extension inside your browser and uses your existing logged in sessions, so there is no server, no database, and nothing to deploy or maintain.

Paid: There is no paid tier and no cloud service. The project is free.

Completely free, with no account and no API keys, because it drives your own browser sessions instead of platform APIs.

What to do by team size

Solo
free; the fastest way to cross-post without API approval
Small team
free, but each person installs it separately with their own logins
Medium team
free; pair it with a real scheduler for timed posts
Large team
free, though shared account governance is not something this handles
Self-hosting ops:trivial
